All things in the woods have a way of losing themselves. Landmarks are tethers to the forest's past but also to your present. Cherish them.

When entering a hex, there is a 1 in 6 chance it contains a landmark. Each landmark may only be found once, but hexes may contain multiple landmarks.

d20 Landmarks in the woods
A tavern, thriving against all odds. There are always equal numbers of regulars and passers-through.
An altar of military magic. It is suffused with anger from a wrathful god whose war was lost.
A freshly burnt effigy, unrecognizable now.
A lightning-struck tree trunk burning from within. The fire never goes out and the tree never fully burns.
A tremendous stone bridge crosses a wooded gully. No path remains on either side, fully overgrown.
A caustic mist continuously seeps from the dead-drenched soil.
A thin thatch rug obscures a 100 ft. drop into a sulfurous cave system.
A crossroads, or what's left of it: ransacked trading post, razed in, and a defaced sign pointing toward the Pilgrim's Temple of Saint Zabeth.
A former military logging operation, machinery rusted and overgrown, tents and battlements ripped to shreds.
A small spring that serves as a meeting point for carrier pigeons.
A network of abandoned treetop scouting posts.
An array of resistance flags hanging in the tree, never taken down, impossible to.
A grove of bloodberry bushes, nauseating and iron-packed.
A warmachine corpse, stripped to the gears.
A garden of petrified flowers.
A network of thin, nearly invisible spiderwebs touches every leaf of a tree.
A puffball mushroom sprays bioluminsecent spores that stick to skin, only growing brighter when scrubbed.
A well-stoked campfire with no attendants. A percolator nearby holds the best coffee you've had in years.
A carnivorous, thorny vine obscures a pit of quicksand.
A trail of edible berries leads to a major cache that regrows in hours.
